I want to be able to sell NSFW content, such as illustrated artwork, like my OC art, comics, graphic novels, as well as written NSFW content like novels or stories. All of the NSFW content that I want to sell are just artistic representations, and none of it contains any real people in it.
Although this content is 100% legal, and many platforms do allow adult content, popular payment processors like PayPal and Stripe do not allow this content, even if it’s just artistic representations. Sellix currently requires PayPal and Stripe, but I would like to suggest the option to exclude these payment providers for NSFW products, in order to avoid breaking any of their rules.
What if Sellix would offer an option to sellers where they can tick a checkbox if their product contains mature content? If the seller checks this box, their product should have an 18+ warning applied to it, and all payment providers that don’t allow this type of content should be removed from the payment options available. As long as the explicit content is legal, has an 18+ warning, and is placed behind a paywall, it should not be much different than any other digital product.
The images below show how certain platforms like Discord, Steam, and DeviantArt allow users to give some of their content an age-restricted rating in order to make them accessible only to a mature audience who consents to viewing it.
